Shark bait uh ha hah!
You want a piece of me?
Do you? Do you?
Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...
Do you ever take a step back and feel, "Wow. Humankind is kinda disappointing."
No Such Thing - John Mayer
"Welcome to the real world", she said to me
Condescendingly
Take a seat
Take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I'd like to think the best of me
Is still hiding
Up my sleeve
They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something's better
On the other side
I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you've got to rise above
...
Just accept it. And life goes on.
Yesterday while Johnny and I were walking towards the 98 B-line to go to Richmond, this lady who was walking in front of us suddenly stopped. She turns around and says to us with a smile, "It's so nice to see a young couple care about it each other so much. It brings back so many memories!"
I was absolutely speechless.
Luckily, Johnny managed to mouth, "thank you!" while smiling. That was such a heartwarming comment. How did she know, I wondered. We were just holding hands and walking. I don't think we were even talking at that moment. "Maybe it was the way we looked at each other," Johnny replied.
I find it funny how some people (namely my cousins) view me as the impassionate girlfriend. (Side note: a girlfriend according to many of my cousins should is stereotypically whiny, helpless, clingy and needy.) Anyways, take this conversation we had today.
V: I saw you at metro during Christmas!
Cousin1: Yea, you were with your boyfriend!
V: Really? I usually don't remember who I'm with.
Cousin2: OH MY GOD. I hope you even remember his birthday!
V: (thinking..wth? How is that even related?!?)
So if we're the strong, independent type and Oh-God-forbid-have-a-life-outside-of-each-other, then we're impassionate?
I don't think that can be any more wrong. If you ask me truthfully, I pity those people more than anything else. I feel sorry they can't see the true reason why people should be together other than the fact that they need a security blanket.

The Year of the Monkey holds a great deal of emotional significance to me. I hope this will be a great year for everyone!
I miss...
taking CPSC courses. As crazy as this sounds, I feel so empty without the constant thought of, "Ack! It's due tomorrow! Argh, okay, better stay afterschool until 11p.m. again". It's so bizarre without Helena and Anh in my classes. We were living in each other's pockets for all those 3 years :P I feel almost guilty that I'm not stressing alongside with them. I was talking to Helena and she was telling me what they were doing in their CPSC319 class which is a project course.
Some are designing database system with a web interface, others are designing a web blogging site and other others are doing some bio gene regeneration simulation and the list goes on.
Doesn't that just sound so awesome to you? It's real applicable things which just blows my mind. I know it's crazy hard work but I'm so proud of you guys! (and I secretly wish want to take the course too but at the same time not really).
Taking PSYC368 has reinforced me that I truly do love neuropsych. A part of me regrets not starting it earlier and it's a pretty scary move to tack on a minor (or possible double major) now but it's something that I just love. It feels so natural to me. I guess it's better now than later :O)
I went a little mec-happy today and purchased a few items I've been eyeing for eternity!

UPDATE!
I'm back everyone (and am sore as ever!) I decided to do a last minute switch to snowboarding and had a BLAST! Anyway, here are a few of my favourite pics :)

Well term 2 has arrived and gah, it's been sort of a slight mess. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret here. I actually find stress a little sexy. Okay, that does sound pretty f-ed up. :P But what I mean is, I like the challenge, the excitment, the adrenaline rush, the "finally a reason for me to be running around."
Over the exam period during December, something important hit me. Why am I not in psychology? I have always liked it. People always told me that I would like it. And heck, the brain IS sexy! (sorry if I'm overkilling the word here). So I decided to double major in CogSys and do a BSc. in psychology. I was all giddy and anxious about having to take those bio and chem courses but alas, an email from Patrice killed my hopes. The majors overlap too much, he says. So I emailed Rensink, my fav cogs prof, and he says he'll not sure but he'll look into in but no replies thus far. Now I'm all worried since I DID sign up for a BIOL course which is at the same time as another course I am taking. I don't know whether I should take it or not. I'll figure it out by the end of this week. I hope.
My courses this term is quite different from anything I have ever taken before. It's all over the place. I am taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year level courses this term!
PHIL451a
Checked the reviews for this prof and he's supposed to be awesome. Turns out he might live up to his hype. Afterall, we did talk about s&m in class! We originated began our discussion on pain, but he always seem to guide it towards pleasure. The students seem really keen on philosophy so it's a bit intimidating. But still, I'll give it a 7/10
ANTH100
Now this guy is THE solmes lookalike! No kidding. His persona is like him also! Excellent class so far. 8/10
PSYC304
I truly looked forward to a new prof for this class and he has arrived! He's just simply hilarious and knowledgeable. He's one of those guys that make you love what he teaches (brain & behaviour) and I am so happy that he's teaching the class. He also told the class (of mostly women) that most men have wet dreams at 3:00a.m. in the morning and it has been scientificly proven. How can you not love this guy? 9/10
LING201
This one is quite ok/interesting so far. I'm really into syntax/morphology so I hope I'll like it. Jennie's in my class! (And we were both late!) We're grouped w/ these 2 other girls who seem quite nice. Can't really say much about it yet, but I guess it's a 7/10.
PSYC368
This sounds abeit sad but I am looking forward to this class lots and lots. Class was cancelled due to snow so no reviews yet.
We're filled with the happys lately! I'll write an entry about the new year, but I really want to dedicate this entry to the most uber awesome special person in the world - Johnny. So here's my chance to be mushy! Happy Four Years Anniversary! And it sure has been happy!
Click here and get mushed out! You've been warned ;)

UPDATED:

Here are some pics from our anniversary :D
We started the day pretty late since we aren't morning peoples. Johnny came over at around 2 and we exchanged presents! Johnny got me a camel pack drinking system for my backpack (great for when you're going on hikes!...that is when I do go on hikes) and he also made me a card! (he drew a picture of us sliding down the mountain ;P) I gave him a gift that was wrapped to make it look like a DVD but it was just my dad's chinese DVDs. I actually got him a Victorinox Huntsman Swiss Army knife! We oohed and ahhed at our gifts.

Afterwards, we went to 7eleven for some kebob (spicy chicken) and spicy wedges. If you have never had 7eleven chicken, I strongly urge you to go try it! It's the absolute best! They are only available at the 7evelen on kingsway/joyce though. Here we are munching away in the car.

After the greasiness, we went sledding down Moberly park! It was soooo icy and bumpy! Though it was nice and sunny, it was around -10degrees celsius! Needless to say, we spent only about 20 min there ;P

Our numbed toes hurried us off to Johnny's house where we watched an episode of Full House before heading over to Metro (which is where we decided to park to get to PC) We mall hopped for a bit and at 6:21p.m. (the exact time we got together), we went to the place where we got together - PC skytrain station!
We then hopped on the skytrain, went back to Metro to pick up the car, then went to Banana Leaf for our dinner. I really did not think we needed reservations. For some reason, I thought I was the only one who had Banana Leaf fever. But when we got there, it was PACKED. Even w/ reservations, we had to wait for a bit.

But the food did not disappoint! We had lamb/beef skewers with spicy and peanut sauce, singapore sweet chili lobster, lemon grass chicken with coconut sauce and fried bananas topped with ice cream, peanuts and condensed milk. The food just so unique tasting. I love it there.

We had the best time there just munching away and talking about everything. Today was absolutely perfect :O)
